The online home buying and rental market saw the most activity today and over the weekend, but an ecommerce site for society’s youngest members also saw a boost. A leap day only happens once every four years, and these three startups, one of which received backing from Ratan Tata, certainly made their extra day count.
Hopscotch

Baby and children’s flash sales site Hopscotch has won bragging rights in its quest to widen its technology platform. It’s secured US$13 million in a series C round of funding from Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.
Eduardo is a continuing investor in the company, having pushed US$11 million into it last year in his first investment into India.
Founded in 2012 by Rahul Anand and Lisa Kennedy, the Mumbai-based startup focuses on selling lifestyle products related to children and babies.
Pin Click

Professional services and investment management firm Pin Click has raised an undisclosed amount of pre-series A funding today.
Founded in 2013 by Puneet Kinra, Manik Kinra, Shivani Gupta, Abhijit Bhole, and Shaishav Kumar, the Bangalore-based startup uses technology to advise home buyers on property. It works with real estate developers in both Bangalore and Pune.
The company claims to have a team of over 100 advisors and around 500 customers between Bangalore and Pune. It plans to expand to Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai in the next six months.
