Here’s How to Get the Angry Birds Seasons Moon Festival Update for Android – Right Now!

This afternoon, Rovio updated its Angry Birds Seasons game with the newest, Chinese-themed Moon Festival episode. It brings lanterns and mooncakes into the mix, along with the usual infuriated birdies and sniffling green pigs.

Chinese mobile gamers are getting a head-start on this game, but I’m sure international readers are keen to grab this update. Good news if you’re on Android, because it’s extremely easy to do since you’re not technically locked down to any App Store. So, here’s how to get the Moon Festival update – numbered v1.6.0 – for Android right now, from anywhere in the world.

• Go to the Chinese download site Downjoy on this link. Don’t worry, this is the Rovio-approved source for ad-supported Angry Birds games in China, so it’s a safe place. Also, it’s multi-lingual, of course. We reported on this Rovio Mobile tie-up back in May.

• Ignore the outdated icon on the game download page. The “v1.6.0″ and “2011-09-01” indicate that this is indeed the Moon festival update. Hit one of the two blue buttons, as shown in this picture. This starts the download.
