Who Has More Likes? Buzzref Wants To Track and Compare Facebook Pages
Tracking Facebook pages can be very handy for marketers. That is why a group of social media marketers created BuzzRef to help brands track, measure, and compare their Facebook page effort against their competitors. The idea was triggered because the founders experienced demand first-hand from their social media agency clients. Not only are they required to run the campaigns, they are also expected to measure and compare performance with competitors.
“We are required to provide detailed reporting for the pages which we manage as well as for the competition. To solve this problem we developed buzzref.com,” said Girish Mahajan, co-founder of the Facebook tracking platform.
India-based Buzzref is a no-brainer tool for marketers. Select two brands and run the report – Yes, it’s that simple. Even old school marketers can run a report. It provides an array of information including:
- The number of fans increased today: For tracking daily performance
- The number of interactions: For tracking brand interaction with fans
- Fan growth charts: Macro view on fans growth
- Content piechart: For understanding what are the types of content you’re running and if they work.

While most of the details are also available on the Facebook admin ‘Insights Tab,’ Buzzref provides a good side-by-side comparison between the brand and its competitors. Unfortunately, Buzzref isn’t able to track demographic and geographic data, something which marketers would certainly find useful.
Mahajan told us that the site is currently tracking more than 3,000 brands, most of which are added by Buzzref users themselves. “Most of the big brands are using buzzref across industries like consumer products, FMCG, F&B, and many more,” he added.
Competitors and Future Plans
Sure, Buzzref isn’t the first Facebook page tracking platform. Socialbakers might be one of its largest competitors, providing gorgeous graphs and metrics to measure Facebook pages — though at times, these metrics and definitions could be confusing to users. Buzzref provides a more straightforward overview, targeted at marketers. But of course, for number crunchers, Socialbakers is probably more suitable.
I was told that Buzzref will only get better and that what we’re seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg. “To take it to the next level, we are open to looking at investments to ensure scalability of this product and many such similar products that are also in the offering from our team,” explained Mahajan.
In the future, Buzzref is looking to offer a premium accounts whereby users are able to gain even better insights and analytics. Stay tuned.
