Samsung Galaxy S2 Hits 3 Million Overseas Sales

galaxy s2Apart from South Korea, Samsung’s Galaxy S2 has launched in lots of countries including Japan, India, and the United Kingdom. A report today from Korean local news agency, Yonhap, reveals that over 3 million of the Android-powered Samsung smartphones have been sold overseas – and that’s just in the last 55 days since it first launched.

That’s 54,500 units sold per day, not counting those bought in South Korea. Earlier reports around mid June suggest that sales in South Korea have hit over 1 million units.

The Galaxy S2, with its 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen and 1.2GHz dual core processor, caused excitement when launched due to its iPhone 4-beating lightness and thinness. The phone is extremely popular in the UK, with a report claiming that it is the UK’s favorite smartphone based on sales volume.
