This is Barito Labs' logo. Ice House's isn't out yet.
Yahoo acquired Koprol before it got into trouble. And after two years, Koprol was shut down. So moving on, the good folks from the Koprol team, namely Satya Witoelar, Fajar Budiprasetyo, and Daniel Armanto together founded Ice House and Barito Labs.
Ice House is a software dev startup (for both web and mobile) and is founded by Koprol’s Fajar Budiprasetyo and Daniel Armanto. We also learned that Ice House is backed by Pacific Technology Partners, a private investment firm based in Palo Alto.
Meanwhile, Satya Witoelar, Fajar Budiprasetyo and Daniel Armanto have also founded Barito Labs [1], a startup that focuses on building mobile products. Satya noted on this next venture:
With our unique combination of entrepreneurial, product development, and marketing experience in both a local startup and a global corporation, we will introduce amazing mobile innovations for consumers in emerging markets.
And that’s not all the news. In the announcement which was sent to us, we also learned that Yahoo “has reached an agreement with Satya Witoelar, Fajar Budiprasetyo, and Daniel Armanto – the founders of Koprol – to return all the rights associated with the trademark and domain names that were obtained by Yahoo! at the time of the initial acquisition in May 2010.”
That means the founders will retain the ownership of the brand name Koprol and also its domain names. That is a classy move from Yahoo that will be very much appreciated by the local tech community. Kudos and good luck to team Koprol on their next adventure!
