Tech in Asia has been tracking layoffs in Asia’s tech industry, and the numbers are staggering: Over 100,000 pink slips have been issued since the start of the funding winter.

Despite the scale of layoffs, data on the benefits that laid off workers receive are scant. This article represents our stab at collecting such information.

## A look at severance packages across Asia

Our analysis begins with the chart above that ranks companies by the number of severance benefits offered. Below, we take a look at the most and least common types of benefits that have been offered.

We have found no strong correlation between funding status or company size and the comprehensiveness of the severance package offered, but there are discernible differences across geographical lines. These trends may become more visible as our dataset continues to grow over time.

Discrepancies exist in terms of quality. Severance pay, for example, varies significantly across companies. Among those that have publicly disclosed severance pay, most exceed the legal minimum stipulated by local laws.
