KakaoTalk and Indonesian Telco Axis Partner Up

Korean-made chat app KakaoTalk is throwing its hat into the ring in Indonesia, as it has been announced that mobile operator Axis will be the app’s official partner in the country. The partnership comes in the form of a mini competition and promotional free data package during the month of November.

Indonesia has already seen two other chat apps, Line and WeChat, and Whatsapp make their moves into the country already. Sadly, no operators in Indonesia are giving out BBM-like package deals for the new chat apps yet, so users will still need to use up their data package to use these messaging apps.
