Indonesia’s Indigo Fellowship 2012 Highlights Some Great Tech Ideas

The winners of Telkom Group’s Indigo Fellowship 2012 have been awarded in four categories. The competition was created to help facilitate the growing digital creative industry in Indonesia, and channel them into strong businesses that can enrich people’s lives. The winners will receive a cash prize and admittance to an incubation program called Indigo Venture. Here’s some of the notable startups from this year:

Application for Tourism, Health, Education

  • Winner: Tiket.com, a ticket booking platform for almost everything.
  • Runner-Up: Try Out Plus is an application that helps people study for annual Indonesian national exams. The preparation exams leading up to those are called “Try Outs.” The application was built by PT Alfasoft and is available for all smartphone platforms, including Symbian.

Comic and Social Game

From a technology perspective, perhaps the most notable in this category was the runner-up in this category, Agustusan. This is a social game for two players which uses Indonesian Independence Day’s traditional games such as pole climbing and the sack race. The Android app was built by Newbee Corp and Imagination Studio.
