WeWork India launches design, build platform for enterprises
WeWork India launched Rivet, an end-to-end design-and-build (D&B) platform for enterprises and global capability centres, the company said.
The platform offers a single-contract model covering design, engineering and construction to replace conventional multi-vendor fit-outs, Karan Virwani, managing director and CEO of WeWork India, said.
The company said Rivet targets large enterprises and GCCs, and that it delivered D&B projects worth 55 crore rupees (US$6 million) in the past 12 months in cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune.
Rivet will use planning tools such as building information modelling and real-time site monitoring.
WeWork elevated Arnav S Gusain to CEO of Rivet while he remains chief supply officer at WeWork India.
WeWork said Rivet could potentially contribute around 10% of WeWork India’s overall revenue and will compete with managed workspace and D&B offerings from Awfis Build, IndiQube, Skootr, and TableSpace.

WeWork India’s new venture faces established rivals
- WeWork India rolled out the new business after a strong quarter, reporting a Rs 17 crore profit in the third quarter of FY26 while revenue rose 29% year over year 1.
- The step into design-and-build is new for WeWork India, yet several firms already sell similar services to corporate clients 2.
- Awfis runs ‘Awfis Transform’ for end-to-end design-and-build, while Skootr and TableSpace promote dedicated ‘Design & Build’ and ‘Custom Built’ units for large enterprises and global capability centres (GCCs), which are offshore hubs multinationals use for functions like engineering, IT, and back-office work 345.
Flexible workspace providers are becoming full-service real estate partners
- Rivet adds to an industry shift as flexible workspace firms move from renting desks to running broader real estate services that keep more of the fees in-house 6.
- Design-and-build work brings a different revenue mix, with larger upfront contracts tied to capital-intensive fit-out projects rather than only monthly rent 3.
- That change raises the bar on competition, pushing providers to cover custom design, construction, and long-term office management alongside flexible leases 42.
