Wayve launches $85m employee share sale at $8.5b valuation
Wayve, a UK-based startup developing self-driving software, is letting employees sell part of their vested equity in a US$85 million tender offer led by existing and new investors at the company’s US$8.5 billion valuation.
That valuation was set in February, when the nine-year-old company raised US$1.2 billion in a series D led by Eclipse, Balderton, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with participation from Microsoft, Nvidia, and Uber.
This is Wayve’s second employee liquidity event.
Wayve said its software was end-to-end AI and that it had driven in more than 500 cities without bespoke high-definition maps.
Wayve’s team has expanded to over 1,200 employees after more than doubling headcount over the past year. The startup is currently targeting robotaxi pilot launches with Uber later in 2026, ahead of a software integration deal with Nissan in 2027.
