US VC firm Chemistry seeks $500m second fund

Chemistry Ventures, a US early-stage venture capital firm, is raising US$500 million for its second fund, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The firm was founded by Mark Goldberg, Ethan Kurzweil, and Kristina Shen, who previously worked at Index Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Andreessen Horowitz, respectively.

Chemistry launched two years ago with a US$350 million debut fund and invests in early-stage startups focused on developer tools, fintech, and infrastructure.

Its portfolio includes Granola, Decagon, Persona, Serval, and Nova Intelligence.
