🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Zero-party data emerges as the answer to privacy concerns and data gaps
Rwazi’s focus on zero-party data, information voluntarily shared by consumers, positions it at the cutting edge of a major shift in market research methodology.
As privacy regulations tighten globally, 55% of marketers now expect zero-party data to become increasingly important in the next two years 1.
This approach directly addresses the historical challenges of market research, which has evolved from punch cards in the early 1900s to online surveys in the 1990s, but has consistently struggled with accuracy and timeliness 2.
Traditional methods like government statistics and purchased consumer reports, which Rutakangwa initially attempted to use, frequently provide outdated, fragmented, or inaccurate information, especially for emerging markets 3.
Zero-party data offers a solution by enabling companies to create personalized experiences while maintaining compliance with privacy laws like GDPR. It represents a shift from inferential to direct consumer understanding 4.
2️⃣ Global market intelligence faces persistent geographic disparities
