Alibaba-backed Turkish ecommerce platform launches LLM

Trendyol Group, an Alibaba-backed ecommerce platform in Turkey, has introduced its first in-house LLM to improve technological capabilities and improve customer experiences.

Caglayan Cetin, Trendyol’s CEO, said the initiative will enable real-time communication between cross-border sellers and consumers in 25 countries, specifically targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

This comes as Trendyol has leveraged its relationship with Alibaba, which holds a 70% stake in the company.

Its investors also include SoftBank Group, General Atlantic, Qatar Investment Authority, and Abu Dhabi’s sovereign fund ADQ.
