Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has terminated its relationship with Singapore-based PowerAir over potential violations of US export controls, as reported by sources familiar with the situation.

This decision follows a review prompted by the discovery of a TSMC chip in a Huawei Technologies AI processor.

TSMC had previously suspended shipments to Chinese chip designer Sophgo after it was revealed that a chip ordered was linked to Huawei’s Ascend 910B system.

Since 2020, Huawei has been banned by the United States, restricting its access to global semiconductor foundries.

Efforts to reach PowerAir for comments were unsuccessful, as it lacks a public website or known contact details. TSMC and Huawei also did not respond to inquiries.
