TrendAI, the enterprise AI security unit of Trend Micro, has appointed Soffenny Yap as Singapore country manager, effective September 1, 2026.

Promoted from a senior leadership role in the company’s Singapore business, she previously led enterprise and public sector sales.

She will oversee local strategy, growth, and customer and partner relationships.

Yap previously headed security services sales at IBM.

She also serves as secretary of the Association of Information Security Professionals, chairman of the Internet of Things (IoT) Special Interest Group at the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace and International Studies (CSCIS), and vice president of the DDAS PMEs and DDASCares initiatives at the Digital Defence Alliance Singapore.

The appointment comes as enterprise AI adoption in Singapore grows, with a ServiceNow index showing agentic AI adoption doubled in 2026.

It also comes as Singapore organizations face persistent cyber threats.

A Cyber Security Agency of Singapore study said most firms in the country had faced cyber incidents.
