Tesla expands Middle East presence, launches Cybertruck in Qatar

Tesla has started selling its Cybertruck in Qatar, expanding its presence in the Middle East after launching operations in Saudi Arabia in April.

The EV maker unveiled the Cybertruck and a refreshed Model Y in Riyadh earlier this year, adding to its existing operations in the United Arab Emirates since 2017.

Tesla supports regional sales with online ordering, pop-up showrooms, Supercharger stations, and service centers.

Qatar becomes one of the first markets outside North America to offer the Cybertruck.

Tesla does not disclose regional Cybertruck sales figures, but a US recall filing in March showed 46,100 units had been built between November 2023 and early this year.

Competition in the region is rising, with rivals such as China’s BYD and Zeekr, as well as US-based Lucid, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
