Taiwan approves $105m Nvidia HQ investment

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has approved a NT$3.3 billion (US$105 million) investment by Nvidia Corp. for its new Taiwan headquarters, located in Taipei’s Beitou Shilin tech park.

The funds will increase the capital of Nvidia Iconic Taiwan Co., supporting the development of the facility.

The approval came just before Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s planned visit to Taipei, where he is expected to attend a year-end banquet and meet local tech leaders, including TSMC chairman C.C. Wei.

The Taipei city government recently consolidated two land parcels in the science park to accommodate Nvidia’s plans and reclassified the land for tech development.

Additionally, the MOEA approved investments in offshore wind energy and outbound investments by Asus, Taiwan Mobile, Hon Hai, and CTBC Bank, totaling hundreds of millions of US dollars.
