Swiss email service Proton launches privacy-focused AI chatbot
Proton has launched Lumo, an AI chatbot that highlights user privacy.
The tool is capable of summarizing documents, generating code, writing emails, and more, with data stored locally on users’ devices.
Lumo is powered by open-source language models, including Mistral’s Nemo and Nvidia’s OpenHands.
The chatbot is accessible through its website and a mobile app available on iOS and Android.
Non-users can ask a limited number of questions weekly, while free account users can access encrypted chat histories and upload small files.
A paid plan, Lumo Plus, costs US$12.99 per month and offers unlimited chats, extended history, and the ability to upload larger files.
