Snowflake said on May 27 that it signed a multiyear agreement with Amazon Web Services.

The US-based cloud data platform provider also committed US$6 billion in spending over multiple years on AWS as demand for AI and data workloads continues to grow.

The deal expands integrations between AWS and its Cortex AI tools.

It added that it already uses AWS Graviton processors and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) graphics processing unit (GPU) instances for model training and inference.

AWS said Graviton offers up to 40% better price-performance than comparable EC2 instances.

Snowflake already runs across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud on an account-by-account basis, so the agreement deepens its multicloud strategy rather than making AWS its exclusive cloud provider.

The commitment is larger than Snowflake’s US$4.68 billion in total revenue for fiscal 2026.

Snowflake also said it has surpassed US$7 billion in lifetime AWS Marketplace sales and is expanding on AWS in 10 new regions, with launches completed or underway in New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, and the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.

AWS said the cloud is designed to meet sovereignty needs such as European Union data residency and operational autonomy.
