Shein under EU investigation for consumer law violations
The European Commission is investigating Shein over potential sales of illegal products and violations of consumer protection laws.
Regulators from four EU member states are involved in the probe.
The investigation will use the Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, which enforces consumer rules across online platforms.
Companies found in violation may face fines from national regulators.
Shein, based in Singapore and originally founded in China, has pledged to cooperate with the investigation.
The European Commission has not yet commented.
This follows similar EU actions last year against Temu and Apple for alleged consumer protection breaches.
