Shark Tank judge nears billionaire status with Lenskart IPO

Lenskart, an eyewear company based in India, is preparing for an IPO in Mumbai as early as next month, aiming for a valuation of US$9 billion, according to sources.

Over 15 years ago, Peyush Bansal founded eyewear maker Lenskart Solutions Ltd. with partners he met on LinkedIn, turning it into a multibillion-dollar company.

Bansal, also known for his role as a judge on Shark Tank India, could see the value of his stake approach US$800 million after the IPO, with the potential to surpass US$1 billion if shares rise by 25% on debut.

Lenskart designs, manufactures, and sells eyewear through online and retail channels, and reported its first annual profit for the year ended March 31, 2025.
