Samsung, Hyundai compete with robots for $1.1b Seoul project

Samsung C&T and Hyundai E&C are using self-driving robot delivery services to attract landlords and homebuyers for the US$1.1 billion Hannam 4 redevelopment project in Seoul’s Yongsan District.

The project is located in the Yongsan District, plans to construct 51 buildings.

This marks a major urban rivalry between the construction divisions of Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group.

A vote by landlords to select the contractor is scheduled for Saturday.

Samsung has partnered with robotics startup Neubility to test its “Neubie,” a self-driving robot delivering food and drinks.

Meanwhile, Hyundai, working with Mobinn, is using patrol and delivery robots.
