Samsung Electronics plans to concentrate on high-value chip production after reporting weaker-than-expected earnings for the July-September period.

The company aims to supply advanced AI chips, including the HBM3E. It is potentially collaborating with Nvidia.

Samsung reported an operating profit of 9.2 trillion won (US$6.66 billion) for the quarter, missing expectations.

Chip sales totaled 29.2 trillion won (US$21.63 billion), but one-time costs affected earnings.
