OpenAI announced new partnerships with Spotify, Zillow, and Mattel at its developer conference in San Francisco on October 9.

The company will have a huge focus on enterprise, aiming to build on its momentum among consumers.

OpenAI introduced new developer tools to let third-party apps, like Spotify and Zillow, connect with ChatGPT for tasks such as playlist creation and property filtering.

Spotify will not share user data with OpenAI for model training, while OpenAI said it would respect user data preferences.

CEO Sam Altman explained that OpenAI had always planned to target enterprise, but waited until its AI models were ready for business needs.

Recent surveys show that enterprise AI deals have not yet delivered returns matching the sector’s high investment.

Altman noted that OpenAI remains unprofitable and said, “not in my top 10 concerns, but we obviously someday have to be very profitable.”
