OpenAI launches AI model GPT-Rosalind for life sciences research
OpenAI has introduced GPT-Rosalind, a life sciences model for biology, drug discovery, and translational medicine, as a research preview.
The model is available in ChatGPT, Codex, and its API for qualified customers through a trusted access program.
The company said the model is designed to support tasks such as evidence synthesis, hypothesis generation, experimental planning, and data analysis across chemistry, protein engineering, and genomics.
OpenAI also introduced a free life sciences plugin for Codex that links to more than 50 scientific tools and data sources.
It is working with Amgen, Moderna, the Allen Institute, and Thermo Fisher Scientific to apply GPT-Rosalind across workflows that accelerate research and discovery.
