Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that the company has not received any orders from Chinese customers for its H200 AI chips, as Beijing is still reviewing whether to approve their import.

Huang, speaking in Taipei, said the Chinese government is currently deciding, and Nvidia is awaiting a decision.

He mentioned that during his recent trip to China, no new orders for the H200 chips were made, although Chinese officials have recently indicated that major tech firms like Alibaba can prepare to order the components.

The H200, an older Nvidia AI chip, is reportedly close to receiving US export approval, which the US government is finalizing.

Nvidia aims to reestablish its presence in China’s AI market, which is a key region for the company’s semiconductor sales.

Huang also noted that Nvidia’s main manufacturing partner, TSMC, will need to significantly increase capacity over the next decade to meet demand.
