Nvidia B200s to power SK Biopharma AI drug research

SK Biopharmaceuticals, a South Korean drugmaker, said on September 2 it will deploy 128 Nvidia B200 graphics processing units through SK Telecom’s Haein data cluster.

The company will use the GPUs under a 17 billion won (US$12.4 million) annual subscription contract to support AI-based drug development.

The company said it plans to use AI from new drug candidate discovery through broader research processes, including translational research, which links animal studies to human clinical trials.

It also plans to use AI in open innovation and build an internal large language model for operations.

SK Biopharmaceuticals President Lee Dong-hoon said AI will be an important factor in competitiveness in new drug development.

The company aims to improve the speed and efficiency of research and development.
