North Korea has developed a new weather forecasting system that uses AI across the entire prediction process, according to state media.
The Korean Central News Agency said the AI-driven tool could improve forecast accuracy and shorten the time needed for weather predictions.
The system was registered as one of North Korea’s top 10 information technology products this year, state media reported.
North Korea has increased its focus on disaster preparedness after severe floods hit the northwest last year.
The country has introduced AI-related majors at universities, and state media has offered a glimpse of citizens using ChatGPT.
