Nick Clegg to step down as Meta’s global affairs chief
Nick Clegg (left), Meta’s president of global affairs, announced his decision to step down from his role on Thursday.
Clegg, who joined Meta in 2018 when it was known as Facebook, said that now is the “right time” to move on.
During his tenure, he tackled issues of transparency, accountability, and governance in the tech industry while navigating the intersection of technology and politics.
As part of the transition, Joel Kaplan, Clegg’s deputy, will step into the role of chief global affairs officer.
Kevin Martin, a current Meta employee, will take over Kaplan’s previous role as VP of global policy.
Clegg will remain involved through the first quarter of 2025 to assist with the transition and represent Meta at international events.
