Netflix brings new mobile app features to Japan, S Korea
Netflix said at its Asia Pacific Product Innovation Showcase that it will roll out a refreshed mobile app in Japan and South Korea in July.
The company will also launch a KPop Demon Hunters game collection on Netflix Playground on June 20.
The updated app is already available in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, and Malaysia.
It adds a vertical video feed called Clips that lets members preview titles.
Users can also save them to My List, share moments, and jump to a title page to start watching.
The company will continue rolling out Playground, its kids-focused game hub for children aged eight and under. Playground is included with subscriptions.
The update also extends Netflix’s games strategy. Members can access more than 120 mobile games through their accounts.
The rollout follows Netflix’s push in Asia Pacific. The company has said more than 80% of members have watched Korean content.
