Microsoft faces slowest revenue growth amid AI concerns

Microsoft is expected to disclose its slowest quarterly revenue growth in a year when it releases its earnings on Wednesday.

Investors are keenly observing the potential demand for AI technology amid concerns over delayed returns from substantial investments.

The company is a leader in generative AI due to its partnership with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.

Yet, products like the enterprise-focused Copilot assistant, priced at US$30 monthly, have seen slower adoption.

Since July’s earnings report, Microsoft’s stock has gained approximately 1%, underperforming compared to the broader S&P 500 index. However, the stock is up about 14% for the year.
