Meta expands board with new strategic appointments

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, announced three new appointments to its board of directors on Monday: Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC); Charlie Songhurst, an investor and former Microsoft executive; and John Elkann, CEO of Exor.

The new directors bring diverse expertise, with White’s leadership of the UFC and Elkann’s oversight of Exor, which invests in companies like Ferrari. Elkann also holds leadership roles at Stellantis NV and the Agnelli Foundation, while Songhurst has served on an AI advisory group for Meta.

Chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg praised the new board members for their expertise, emphasizing their role in advancing AI and technology as Meta focuses on future innovations.

This expansion reflects Meta’s commitment to enhancing its strategic vision and governance in the evolving tech landscape.
