Lightspeed, A16z back Nexthop AI at $4.2b valuation
Nexthop AI said it closed an oversubscribed US$500 million series B led by Lightspeed Venture Partners at a US$4.2 billion valuation.
Nexthop AI is a Santa Clara-based company that builds switching solutions for hyperscalers and NeoClouds.
Andreessen Horowitz, Altimeter, and existing investors also joined the round, the company said.
Guru Chahal of Lightspeed said his firm sees a large infrastructure opportunity and cited Nexthop’s focus on performance and open software.
Raghu Raghuram of Andreessen Horowitz said networking is now central to AI cluster performance and that his firm plans to back Nexthop as it scales.
The company said it launched a range of products aimed at scale-out, scale-across, and front-end AI and cloud data center applications and said it continues to invest in expanding R&D and infrastructure capabilities.
Nexthop is headquartered in Santa Clara and has offices in Seattle, Vancouver, Dublin, and Bengaluru, India.
