Japan’s Kaneka acquires Israeli medical firm for $100m

Japanese conglomerate Kaneka Corporation has acquired Israeli medical device company EndoStream Medical, valued at around US$100 million, with potential future milestone payments.

Founded in 2015, EndoStream Medical specializes in devices for treating cerebral aneurysms.

EndoStream will operate as Kaneka’s Israeli development hub, retaining its 12 employees and planning to expand staff to enhance its technology and develop new devices.

This marks Kaneka Corporation’s first major deal in Israel since the conflict that began in October 2023, leveraging its expertise across health services, nutrition, and life sciences sectors.

The transaction is also supported by Peregrine Ventures, the sole venture capital investor in EndoStream, which aims to achieve joint sales to exceed 20 billion yen (around US$126 million) by 2030.
