JD.com breaks ground on first RoboBase in Guangzhou
JD.com’s first RoboBase project has broken ground in Guangzhou’s Huangpu district, following the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the company and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, according to JD Blackboard News, the company’s WeChat account.
JD.com said RoboBase is full-life-cycle industrial infrastructure for robots, developed by JD Property based on the group’s broader business ecosystem.
The project is designed to integrate research and development, manufacturing, application, and service into a closed-loop robotics ecosystem.
JD.com said it is a supply chain-focused technology and service company spanning retail, logistics, technology, and property.
It placed RoboBase within its broader automation and industrial infrastructure strategy.
Public details on the agreement’s scope, investment, policy support, and the Huangpu project’s size or potential tenants were not available in the materials reviewed.
