Israeli startup Appcharge raises $58m series B
Appcharge, an Israeli company that helps mobile game publishers sell directly to players, has raised US$58 million in a series B round led by US venture firm IVP.
Playrix, a Russian gaming company, and existing backers including Creandum, Play Ventures, Glilot Capital Partners, Smilegate Investment, Moneta Ventures, BITKRAFT Ventures, and Corundum also joined.
The new funding brings Appcharge’s total raised to US$89 million.
The company said it now processes over US$500 million in transactions annually for more than 100 mobile games.
Appcharge’s platform allows publishers to sell in-game items through web stores and integrated payment tools, bypassing app store fees.
The company employs about 94 people, mostly in Tel Aviv.
Appcharge recently launched an iOS payments SDK and a payment flow service for publishers.
