Infibeam-backed Rediff plans $100m IPO for email, payment services
Rediff, an internet company majority owned by financial technology firm Infibeam Avenues, is evaluating several fundraising options, including an initial public offering (IPO) to raise up to US$100 million, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Other options being considered are private placement or private equity investment.
Rediff’s board is expected to decide on the capital raise structure in the coming weeks, and sources say the IPO option has a high chance of being chosen.
Ashish Mehrota, Rediff’s SVP, corporate development, said the company is assessing various fundraising options but has nothing specific to share at this stage.
The company says potential funds would support expansion into enterprise-grade email, its business productivity suite RediffOne, and digital payment service RediffPay.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Rediff’s IPO timing aligns with India’s record-breaking public market momentum
The company’s potential $100 million fundraising comes during an exceptional period for Indian IPOs.
India’s IPO market raised $19-20 billion in FY25 across 80 mainboard listings, representing a significant increase from $7.6 billion the previous year 1.
This surge is driven by strong domestic investor participation, with three-quarters of IPO capital in 2024 coming from local investors rather than foreign sources 2.
The favorable conditions reflect India’s stable political environment and growing domestic capital base, creating an opportune window for companies like Rediff to access public markets.
Goldman Sachs notes that the increasing number of young companies going public, supported by this deepening domestic investor base, has contributed to record IPO volumes 2.
2️⃣ Enterprise productivity represents a strategic bet on digital sovereignty trends
Rediff’s focus on enterprise email and productivity tools positions it within India’s broader push toward digital independence from Western tech giants.
While global players like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoho dominate the productivity suite market worldwide, Rediff claims to be “the only large-scale Indian player in this category.”
