Indian vegan self-care brand Kimirica gets $15m for retail push

Carnelian Asset Management LLP has invested about US$15 million in Kimirica, an India-based luxury vegan self-care brand.

The funding supports Kimirica Hunter, which manufactures hotel amenities, and Kimirica Lifestyle, its direct-to-consumer beauty line.

Kimirica said it will use the capital to grow its retail presence.

Founded in 2013, the company supplies hotel toiletries and exports to over 70 countries, working with clients such as Marriott, Hilton, and Air India.

Kimirica also operates in the retail space, selling skincare, body care, and fragrances through online platforms and physical stores.

The company plans to open more stores in India and the Middle East, and has recently launched a men’s grooming line.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Hotel toiletries market presents massive growth opportunity despite competitive landscape

Kimirica’s expansion comes at an opportune time as the global hotel toiletries market is experiencing significant growth.

The market was valued at $24.3 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $45.29 billion by 2030, representing a 10.9% compound annual growth rate 1.

This growth is driven by increased global travel and rising consumer expectations for premium amenities, creating substantial opportunities for established players like Kimirica who already serve over 10,000 luxury hotels.

The company’s timing appears strategic, particularly given that the Asia-Pacific region, where Kimirica is expanding with new stores in the Middle East, represents the fastest-growing segment with a 12.1% CAGR through 2031 2.

The market dynamics favor companies that can deliver both luxury and sustainability, positioning Kimirica’s vegan, cruelty-free approach well for continued growth in this expanding sector.

2️⃣ Vegan beauty timing aligns with accelerating consumer demand shift

Kimirica’s pivot into D2C vegan beauty products capitalizes on a documented surge in consumer preferences for ethical cosmetics.
