Indian telco firm Bharti Airtel profit doubles in Q2
Bharti Airtel reported a consolidated net profit of 8,651 crore rupees (US$9,85 million) for Q2 FY26, more than double the 4,153.4 crore rupees (US$4,73 million) posted a year earlier.
The India-based telecom operator saw its revenue from operations rise 26% year-on-year to 52,145 crore rupees (US$59,3 million) in the September quarter.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) for Airtel’s mobile business rose 10% from a year ago to 256 rupees (US$2,91), compared to Reliance Jio’s ARPU of 211.4 rupees (US$2,41) in the same period.
The company added 5.1 million smartphone users and nearly 1 million post-paid subscribers during the quarter.
Airtel’s total customer base increased to 62.35 crore (7.1 million), with 44.97 crore (5.1 million) in India.
