India-based teacher certification and upskilling platform Centa has raised 20 crore rupee (US$2.33 million) in a series A1 funding round.

The investment was led by Colossa Ventures, with participation from existing investor Discovery Assets and several angel investors.

The funds will be used to expand Centa’s operations in India and select international markets, as well as to improve its technology infrastructure.

Centa connects teachers with career opportunities and focuses on certification, upskilling, and placement for both part-time and full-time roles. It currently engages with 1.7 million teachers from over 100,000 schools across more than 100 countries.

Centa is known for initiatives like the International Teaching Professional’s Olympiad.
