Indian EV charging firm Kazam to offer free integration
India-based Kazam, an electric vehicle charging and energy management company, said it would run a free seven-day program from 14 July 2026. The company aims to help eligible charge point operators connect their existing networks to Unified Bharat e-Charge with no initial integration cost.
Kazam said operators with Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI)-compatible systems can typically connect in seven days through integration, testing, and certification while keeping their current charger management systems, apps, and pricing models.
OCPI is a back-end protocol that lets charging networks and apps roam seamlessly without replacing charger hardware.
Unified Bharat e-Charge is being developed to let drivers find chargers and pay across participating apps.
Public descriptions suggest the broader platform is still in rollout or pilot stages rather than fully deployed nationwide.
The offer comes as the Ministry of Heavy Industries has stressed interoperability, standardization, and common technical standards for EV charging infrastructure under PM E-DRIVE.
