Indian D2C home appliances firm Nuuk nets $4.6m series A

Nuuk, an Indian D2C home appliances brand, has raised 40 crore rupee (US$4.6 million) in its series A round led by Vertex Ventures and supported by Temasek.

With this, Nuuk’s total funding reaches 65 crore rupee (US$8 million), including backing from Good Capital and investors Rohit Kapoor and Vivek Gambhir.

The funds will go towards product development, local production, and brand building.

Founded in 2023, Nuuk currently sells fans, vacuum cleaners, garment care devices, and juicers/blenders.

The company aims to manufacture over 50% of its products domestically by 2025-26, up from the current 20%, with the rest imported from China. Its appliances are designed in-house and produced through third-party manufacturers.

Nuuk sells its products through its website and e-commerce platforms, with Amazon as its biggest revenue driver.

The funding highlights strong investor interest in India’s D2C market, projected to reach US$300 billion by 2030, where brands like Philips, Bajaj, and Atomberg are also competing.
