Indian connector maker nets $8m series A

Tiea Connectors, a Bengaluru-based manufacturer of connectors and precision components, said on May 27 that it raised 770 million rupees (US$8.06 million) in a series A round led by IvyCap Ventures.

Jamwant Ventures, 8X Ventures, and other high-net-worth individual angel investors also participated in this fundraising.

The company makes connectors, contacts, and precision components for defense, aerospace, EV, avionics, and industrial applications.

Tiea Connectors said it will use the funds to expand manufacturing, strengthen R&D and product engineering, speed up automation and technology integration, as well as expand operations in India and overseas.

The round comes as India prioritizes Buy Indian defense procurement, while industry analysis points to continued reliance on imports for some advanced connector technologies.
