India gaming industry launches studio incubator

The Game Developer Association of India launched Supernova on July 14, an incubation program for local game studios.

The program plans to support 40 studios with mentorship, publisher and investor-readiness support, legal and intellectual property advisory, and AI-focused development guidance.

GDAI said partners include Tencent, PhonePe’s Indus Appstore, 1312 Interactive, and Sanchi Connect.

Applications close on July 31, the first cohort is due to be announced by August 2026.

The program will end with a demo day at the India Game Developer Conference 2026.

India’s gaming market is projected to reach US$2.4 billion by 2029, according to MIXI Global Investments.
