Hyundai, Nvidia talks fuel autonomous driving deal hopes

Hyundai Motor Group chair Euisun Chung met Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 6.

Industry sources said the meeting was held behind closed doors at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel.

Market observers are watching for a possible collaboration between Hyundai and Nvidia in autonomous driving technology.

The discussion came a day after Nvidia introduced its Alpamayo platform, an open-source AI system for autonomous driving.

The platform is scheduled for release in Europe and Asia later in 2026.

Nvidia has also announced plans to supply up to 260,000 GPUs to South Korea, partnering with the government and major companies, including Hyundai, to build large-scale AI factories.
