Granite-Integral backs Omio with $10m for Japan growth
Berlin-based travel booking platform Omio said on July 21 that it secured a US$10 million investment from Granite-Integral, a joint venture between Granite Asia and Japan’s Integral Corporation, to expand in Japan and Southeast Asia.
Omio said it will use the funding to add transport partners and grow teams in Japan and Singapore, where it has an AI-focused technology hub.
The deal follows Omio’s launch in Japan earlier in 2026.
The company said it is seeing demand from international travelers booking trips along the Golden Route and to more remote destinations.
It is also working with operators including Japan Railways and Willer Express across a network that spans 48 countries.
Granite-Integral launched with US$100 million in committed capital to back high-growth companies with strong ties to Japan and cross-border expansion plans.
The expansion also comes as Japan drew 36.9 million foreign visitors in 2024, although travel remained concentrated in major metropolitan areas.
Some long-haul visitor groups increasingly stayed in regional areas compared with pre-pandemic levels.
