Google highlights 3 video commerce tools in SEA
At Google Marketing Live Southeast Asia in Singapore on July 7, Google announced three tools for the region across Search, YouTube, creators, and marketplaces as it expands video commerce.
Google introduced three new products under its commerce offering: Commerce Media Suite, Creator Partnerships Boost, and Affiliate Partnerships Boost.
Commerce Media Suite lets shoppers move from a YouTube ad directly to checkout, while Creator Partnerships Boost enables brands to promote creators’ YouTube videos as ads.
Affiliate Partnerships Boost, currently being piloted in Southeast Asia, allows marketplaces and retailers to promote affiliate videos.
Google said it is piloting Commerce Media Suite with Shopee and that Maybelline saw a 7.4% incremental lift in revenue in early tests.
It also said Affiliate Partnerships Boost is being piloted in Southeast Asia with Shopee.
Commerce Media Suite is not new; Google has described it as a commerce media offering that is expanding globally to Asian marketplaces, using retailer first-party data and shopper audiences across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display, and connected TV.
Google’s marketing materials also list Creator Partnerships Boost and Affiliate Partnerships Boost in its wider ads toolset.
Google said video commerce in Southeast Asia grew 5x from 2022 to 2025, reaching 25% of the region’s ecommerce gross merchandise value.
