Freelance marketplace Fiverr to cut 25% of jobs as AI shift
Fiverr will cut about 250 jobs, or 25% of its workforce, as it shifts to an AI-first strategy, CEO Micha Kaufman told staff on September 15.
The layoffs aim to create a smaller, faster organization focused on AI across operations, following AI deployment in products like Neo, Fiverr Go, and Dynamic Matching, as well as in coding, ad, and customer care.
The company reported Q2 revenue of US$108.6 million, up 14.8% year-on-year, with growth in AI-driven services and enterprise offerings offsetting a drop in active buyers.
Active buyers fell nearly 11% to 3.4 million, but average spend per buyer rose almost 10% to US$318.
Adjusted EBITDA rose to US$21.4 million, up from US$17.8 million a year earlier.
Fiverr maintained its 2025 revenue forecast of US$425 million to US$438 million and projected adjusted EBITDA of US$84 million to US$90 million.
