Ex-Intel exec’s startup OXMIQ secures $35m series A

OXMIQ, an AI chip startup based in Campbell, California, founded by former Intel graphics chief Raja Koduri, has raised US$35 million in a series A round co-led by Samsung Catalyst Fund and Fundomo.

The company will use the funding to commercialize its OxCore graphics processing unit (GPU) architecture.

The round brings OXMIQ’s total funding to US$60 million.

Existing investors MediaTek, Pegatron Venture Capital, CDIB-TEN, Darwin Ventures, Morgan Creek Digital, AM Intelligence Labs, and Intel Capital also participated.

The company said it aims to complete OxCore by the end of 2026 or early 2027, ahead of customer deployments and commercial silicon tape-outs.

OXMIQ said it licenses its OxCore architecture as compute intellectual property (IP) for AI chip development.

The platform enables semiconductor companies, neocloud providers, and AI infrastructure firms to build custom AI chips without purchasing off-the-shelf processors or developing chip designs from scratch.

The startup’s initial focus on India and Southeast Asia reflects demand from AI data center expansion in markets including Malaysia and Indonesia.

OXMIQ also has engineering teams in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
