Dropbox expands AI integration with ChatGPT, Claude
Dropbox said it expanded integrations with ChatGPT, Claude, and Google’s Gemini Spark. The integrations let users access, organize, share, and act on Dropbox content and workflows inside those AI tools.
The July 2026 ChatGPT integration covers ChatGPT Work, ChatGPT, and ChatGPT Codex. Dropbox said users can organize content and run multi-step workflows.
In June 2026, Dropbox added three integrations across Anthropic’s Claude ecosystem: Claude, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code. That same month, Google announced a Dropbox integration for Gemini Spark.
The announcement also fits Dropbox’s Dash strategy. Dropbox has positioned Dash as an AI workspace and search tool across work apps, and a product it is betting on for growth.
More broadly, Dropbox uses MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to connect content to compatible AI apps. Access is tied to existing permissions through OAuth, and admins can block apps. Its hosted Dropbox MCP server is read-only.
Box, a US enterprise content management company, also offers agents and an MCP server, suggesting permissions-aware AI content access is becoming standard in enterprise content tools.
